Federico Ángel Marotta graduated as lawyer from Universidad Nacional de la Plata in 2009. His practice is focused on business, corporate, sports, real estate and maritime law. He acted on numerous occasions as foreign representative for Holman, Fenwick Willan LLP.
Before founding Marotta & Jozami Abogados, he was main partner of Marotta & Asociados (2017-2021) and Infrastructure and Waterways Director of PARLASUR (2020-2021).
In addition, he was foreign associate in Ruiz Pinto & Del Valle, Barcelona (2016), member of Lesmi & Moreno (2012/2016), partner of Castagnet-Marotta-Oms (2011-2012), foreign associate in Holman, Fenwick & Willan, London (2010) and member of Remaggi, Pico, Jessen & Asociados (2009/2010).
In 2019, he obtained his LL.M Degree & Sport Law Diploma from Universidad Austral Law School. Previously, he completed the 36 th Maritime Law Course from the University of Southampton (2009) and the Insurance Course from the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy (2010). In 2015, he obtained a Diploma in Arbitration and in 2017 he obtained a Diploma in Customs Law, both from Universidad Austral.
Within his academic activity, stands out his position as professor of the Maritime Law Lecture of Universidad Católica de la Plata Law School (2011-2019). He was also academic coordinator of the Foreign Trade Law Program of Universidad Austral Law School (2017-2021), visiting professor at the Sports Law Lecture of Universidad Austral Law School (2016), guest speaker at the VII International Football Law Intensive Course organized by Universidad Austral (2012) and academic coordinator of the Sports Law
Course directed by Dr. Gustavo Abreu in Universidad Católica de La Plata (2011). He participated in the International Conference for the Revision of the Convention on Hazardous and Noxious Substances of the International Maritime Organization representing the Iberoamerican Institute of Maritime Law (2010).
He is member of the Public Bar Association of Capital Federal (2009) and of the Public Bar Association of Quilmes (2009). He is also member of the Iberoamerican Institute of Maritime Law and of the Argentine Association of Maritime Law.

Before founding Marotta & Jozami Abogados, he was member of Curutchet - Odriozola Abogados (2018-2021) and Legal Advisor to the Administración General de Puertos S.E. (2019-2020) and to the Subsecretaría de Puertos, Vías Navegables y Marina Mercante del Ministerio de Transporte de la Nación (2017–2019), leading the preparation of the bidding documents for the Hidrovía Paraná-Paraguay concession delivered in the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2019).
He was also Associate and then Senior Associate Partner at Balbín & Pascual Abogados (2008-2018) and Corporate Legal Manager at International Trade Logistics (a member of PSA Group), holding company to Exolgan Container Terminal, Exologistica -Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay- and Logistics Platforms Investment (2008-2016). Previously, he was foreign associate at Marena Bonvicini Ludergnani & Partners, Bologna-Milan, Italy (2007) and Lawyer at Telefónica Group for Movistar and Atento Argentina (2004-2005).
In 2007, he obtained a Master’s Degree in International Affairs – International Law, from the Università di Bologna, Italy.
In 2011, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Law from the Universidad Austral Law School. His thesis “Mercosur: estructura institucional y mecanismos de producción de normas. La internalización de las normas de Derecho Derivado del Mercosur: problemas varios y proyectos de solución” was distinguished and graded with a ten.
He completed the Course in Telecommunications’ Regulation and Law from Universidad Católica Argentina (2005), the Sports Law Program from Universidad Austral (2008) and the Intensive Program in Customs Law from Universidad Di Tella (2015). He also obtained the Leadersfish Certification granted by PSA Group (2014).
In 2020, he obtained a Certificate for having successfully completed and received a passing grade on the course “Justice”, lectured by Professor Micahel Sandel at Harvard University Law School.
In 2023, he completed the Modern Port Management Course of the UNCTAD TrainForTrade Program sponsored by the General Administration of Ports, the Port Authority of Valencia, the Port Authority of Gijón and the Port Authority of Las Palmas, receiving as a distinction for the best average (100) for the work "Maritime and Port Customs Regime", a full scholarship and working experience travel in the ports of Valencia, Gijón and Las Palmas, Spain. In 2025, he completed the Trainer of Trainers course, enabling him to generate content and teach classes within the same program.
Professor of Port Regulation in the Customs Law Continuing Education Program at Di Tella University, in the Diploma in Customs and Tax Litigation at the University of Salvador, in the Specialization Course in International Trade at Austral University and in the Comprehensive Introduction to Foreign Trade Course organized by the Navigation Center and the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies. Previously, he was academic director and professor in the Foreign Trade Law Program and a member of the Comprehensive Examination Panel for the Master's Degree in Business Law at Austral University (2017-2021). He was also a visiting professor of Port Law in the Maritime Law Department at the Catholic University of La Plata (2017-2019). Since 2018, he is Director of the Foreign Trade Law Journal published by IJ International Legal Group and Austral University.
Among his publications stand out his books Ley de Actividades Portuarias revisada, ordenada y comentada (Cathedra Jurídica, 2018) presented at the Conference on Port Activities organized by Universidad Austral Law School (2019), Derecho del MERCOSUR: instituciones, régimen legal y sistema normativo (Cáthedra Jurídica, 2022) and Régimen de la responsabilidad de los administradores de clubes de fútbol, co-authored book (AD-HOC, 2009). He is also author of many papers and press articles in ports regulation, customs and foreign trade.
He is member of the Public Bar Association of Capital Federal (2004) and member of the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies (2013). He is also member of the Subcommissions of ports, waterways, free zones and customs of the Center for Studies for the Promotion and Development of Maritime, Port and Naval Industry (2019) and member of the Argentine Association of Maritime Law (2021).

His professional practice focuses on civil, commercial and corporate law, with extensive experience advising companies both as in-house counsel and as external legal counsel. He has participated in a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, debt restructuring processes, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings, as well as complex litigation.
Since 2013, he has focused primarily on providing legal advice to companies operating in the energy, oil and gas, transportation, and international trade sectors.
He joined Marotta & Jozami Abogados in 2025. Previously, he was part of the law firms D'Onofrio Abogados (2015-2024) and Balbín & Pascual Abogados (2008-2015). He was also Head of Legal Affairs at Exologistica S.A. (PSA Group) for Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay (2013-2015), and worked in the Legal Departments of the Telefónica – Movistar Group (2004) and COVIARA (Housing Construction for the Navy), of the Ministry of Defense of the Nation (2000-2004).
